UN-DP rapport over biotechnologie
Begin juli 2001 presenteerde het United Nations Development
Program (UNDP) een rapport waarin volgens sommige krantenberichten wordt gemeld
dat gentechnologie hard nodig is voor het oplossen van het hongerprobleem.
Opvallendst in de reacties is dat Herfkens het rapport kritiekloos volgt en
het voordeel van gentechnologie aandikt, en dat juist de ontwikkelingsorganisaties
en lokale boeren er kritisch over zijn.
